( KWIC news 05 Andrei Pinkov) At the Zhuhai Air Show, China exhibited the latest FBC1 fighter bomber that uses the triple-FBW system.

The FBC1 is equipped with the JL10A "Shen Ying" pulse Doppler fire control radar system. This system was developed by No.607 Institute of Electronic Technology. When the system is used to search an object, its look-up range is 80 kilometers while its look-down range 54 kilometers. When tracking an object, the system has its look-up range of 40 kilometers and its look-down range of 32 kilometers. Its scan volume azimuth is +/-60 degrees and its working frequency is X wave band. With a total of eleven working patterns, the system is able to simultaneously track four objects in the sky. In addition, it can also guide the semi-active missiles produced in Russia, like the etc.. The whole comprehensive fire control system can accommodate various combat pods, including the forward looking infrared/laser targation pod developed by No. 603 Institute and the Blue Sky low-altitude navigation pod developed by No.607 Institute. With its terrain following flight clearance height ranging from 60 to 400 meters, the Blue Sky low-altitude navigation pod uses the terrain following radar whose detection range is 15 kilometers and whose forward looking infrared detection range is 10 kilometers. The Blue Sky low-altitude navigation pod weighs 200 kilograms.

According to the source from Xian Aircraft Design and Research Institute, the FBC1 can make a terrain following flight at the low altitude of 60 meters and at the velocity of 900 kilometers per hour. ( KWIC Digest news by Andrei Pinkov)
